Synopsis

Benson must prove to the groundskeepers that he played a world-renowned percussion solo on the debut album of a hair metal band he was once a member of.

Plot

The Park employees are gathered in front of the house, hearing from Benson that a famous band will be performing at the park. Being asked the name of the band, Benson is hesitant, but finally answers that Hair to the Throne will be performing. Everyone except Benson gets excited, and Rigby brings up that they are "one of the greatest living bands to ever live". Mordecai then asks if they'll be performing their famous drum solo, which, according to Rigby, is the "most epic drum solo in history". Mordecai then asks Benson if he's heard it. Benson grows upset and claims that he's the one who performed that solo. No one believes Benson, as Skips states that "it's too advanced" and Rigby claims that someone tried it but his "skeleton caught on fire". Benson then tells them that he'll perform the drum solo before the concert starts. As the conversation goes on, Hair to the Throne arrives, and the park staff meet the members, and meet what will be performing the drum solo, Drumotron VI. The band samples a drum fill from the machine, impressing everyone except Benson, who calls the fill a "joke".

The band members taunt him, and claim that Benson was never the one who performed the solo, and then offers the park staff the status of honorary roadies. Everybody accepts except Benson, who furiously refuses. Now upset, Benson then takes Mordecai and Rigby to get his drumset out of storage, and haul it onto the Park Truck as Hair to the Throne does a soundcheck. Mordecai and Rigby later decide to leave Benson to go see the band. After arriving back at the park Mordecai and Rigby, are asked to do a favor for the band. Meanwhile, Benson sets up a piece of his drum kit at the park, and goes back to the storage lot, to get more of the set. After Benson leaves, Mordecai and Rigby take Hair to the Throne to the drum set, where to Benson's demise, they destroy it. After realizing that Hair to the Throne is just "a bunch of jerks", Mordecai and Rigby help Benson again, by fixing and setting up his drumset during the concert.

Finally, when the solo is to begin, a platform rises to bring Benson to the stage instead of the Drumotron VI. After introducing himself, Benson begins the solo, and Hair to the Throne tries to stop him, but Mordecai, Rigby, and eventually the rest of the park staff decide to help. As the solo progresses, the Drumotron VI comes to life to stop Benson, trying to get past the park staff. Benson then seats himself onto a drumming platform, which is connected to a crane. Benson then drops a large cymbal on the ground and continues the solo, and as he is about to finish, by pulling a lever, the Drumotron VI attempts to stop him, only allowing Benson to continue the solo one handed, causing his skeleton to catch on fire (hence Rigby's rumor).

However, the fire emitting from Benson burns off the machine allowing him to pull the lever and finish the solo by hitting the drumming platform against the cymbal he put on the ground, and creating a force powerful enough to knock the hair off of the members of Hair to the Throne. After finishing, the band members approach Benson and apologize for their past actions, and asking him to rejoin the band, but Benson declines and continues his job as the park manager, leaving Mordecai and Rigby questioning his decision.
