"Carter and Briggs" is the twenty-fourth episode in Season 4 (and one hundred-third episode overall) of Regular Show. It first aired on May 6, 2013.

Synopsis

Mordecai and Rigby enter an automobile competition centered around "donut-spinning" to get a cameo role on their favorite cop show.

Plot

The episode begins with Mordecai and Rigby cheering to their favorite cop show "Carter and Briggs". While imitating scenes from the show, a commercial for a chance to win a role in the next episode is announced. The person that can spin the most donuts will win the cameo appearance. Mordecai and Rigby become psyched about the opportunity (for as we all know, donuts are their "thing"). However, they weren't as good as they originally thought. They go to Muscle Man for guidance, who trains Mordecai and Rigby to do the most spins possible by lowering the radius at which they spin. Muscle Man tells them to avoid using a 0 radius for it could only be done in a vortex and that it would cause an infinite donut. Skips upgrades the cart to be able to withstand the competition. Mordecai and Rigby are then stopped by Benson who says that they may only enter if they wear a T-shirt with "The Park" written on it when they appear on T.V. Mordecai and Rigby agree to his terms (though they weren't fond of the t-shirts.)

At the competition, Mordecai and Rigby face many competitors and before the final match, Carter and Briggs themselves. They go up against two fans dressed as Carter and Briggs with the same vehicle as in the show. Their opponents used cheap tricks like oil (to keep spinning) and crashing into Mordecai and Rigby (to stop their spinning). Mordecai and Rigby are left with no option but to perform a 0 radius and open the vortex. Their opponents crash into the vortex. They then follow the vortex to its center to initiate the infinite donut. They spin out of the vortex and were presented with medals for winning (which flew to their torsos like they were magnets).

The next scene goes back to the house to where all their friends are awaiting to see their part on "Carter and Briggs". On the show, Mordecai and Rigby stuttered and acted nervous/camera shy while Carter and Briggs looked frustrated at their unprofessional acting. Carter and Briggs went to arrest them and threw Rigby on the hood of the cop car to which he replied "Ow, that actually hurt!" The scene returns to the group who were indifferent to the show, while Mordecai and Rigby claimed it to be the greatest moment in their lives.

  • Carter and Briggs is a very clear parody on the 1984 show Miami Vice.

Errors

  • When Benson, Fives, and pops hold up signs it was supposed to say mordo and rigs kick their butts, however it says mord and rics
