"Paint Job" is the thirty-first episode in Season 5 (and one hundred and forty-seventh episode overall) of Regular Show. It first aired on July 3, 2014.

Synopsis[]

Mordecai and Rigby have to repaint the park house after throwing pizza pouches at it and ruining its paint job while cleaning it.[1]

Plot[]

The episode begins outside with Mordecai and Rigby slinging pizza pouches at each other, setting into motion an irreversible chain reaction. The entire house is soon shown with a lot of pizza pouches mushed to the walls. Benson shouts off-screen and runs to them, demanding that Mordecai and Rigby must clean the house with a power washer, using the trademark threat of firing the two if they refuse to do so.

Initially, Rigby wants to use it but Mordecai argued to Rigby that "you need to have power to control it", in which Rigby submits. Mordecai tells Rigby to turn the power washer on, adding that they should "start slow". The machine has a variety of levels 1-10; Rigby turns the power washer's "level" to 2 and Mordecai begins washing the walls. Despite Mordecai's refusal to increase the power washer's level, Rigby's impatience causes him to turn the power washer's level to 10, which in turn results in Mordecai losing control of the washer. The power washer washes off the paint off the exteriors walls of the house. The hose suddenly turns off some time later, leaving Mordecai and Rigby confused, but the two see an angered Benson standing with the machine. A view of the damaged house is shown in different angles. Now Benson gives them a new task: they must repaint the entire house, stating that the house surface colors must perfectly match.

Mordecai and Rigby begin work on repainting the house, though their efforts only end with them being able to repaint the garage. Mordecai is enraged towards Rigby for ruining his schedule with CJ. Rigby then promises Mordecai that he would do the work himself, which Mordecai trusts and rides off with the golf cart. Rigby, again unwilling to repaint the rest of the house, calls for a "temporary" break inside the house after a few minutes of work. He secretly watches the television during his said break, noticing a commercial from Stealth Corporation, who promises to any agreeing contractor to repaint the person's house in return by testing the company's equipment. Rigby quickly calls for a member of Stealth Co. and naively agrees to sign Stealth Co.'s contract.

Rigby later went to speak with Mordecai and CJ, wearing the free pullover that he got from the Stealth Co. Guy. Mordecai angrily asks Rigby why he wasn't painting the house, to which Rigby mentions that he hired some guys to repaint the house, before asking Eileen for the most calming beverage (which turned out to just be warmed water), and CJ tells Mordecai that he had nothing to worry about.

Mordecai and Rigby were later shown walking to the park, and Rigby for some reason through away the pullover he got from Stealth Co. (possibly because he though it got "old"), and they make their way back. Unfortunately, the house was missing, and it turns out that the house was painted in stealth. Mordecai was angered, but Rigby told him that they could talk to the Stealth Co. Guy about it. The guy told him that the test phase was a success, and that their house was undetectable by radar, but Mordecai and Rigby only complained that they could no longer see the house. The guy says that it was fortunate that they didn't want their house like that, because they would be destroying the house to keep their stealth paint formula a secret. He then throws a missile tracking device onto the roof, and warned Mordecai and Rigby to evacuate to a safe distance, before he leaves. Mordecai and Rigby, refusing to let their house be blown up, phase through the house to get the device off the house. They make it to the attic door, only to find that the ladder was broken (and that Rigby said he would fix it a week ago). Mordecai says to get the device off the roof, he would boost Rigby up to the attic, and Rigby complains since he doesn't know his way around the attic, though he didn't have a choice, as he was too small to boost Mordecai up. Rigby then makes his way through the attic, and throws the device off the roof. Muscle Man then catches it, and asks how much he could get for it, as well as wearing Rigby's Stealth Co. pullover. Mordecai and Rigby then tell Muscle Man to throw the device away because it was a missile tracking device, but unfortunately, he through it back towards them. They then throw it back away, but it was caught by Benson. This then leads to Mordecai, Rigby, Muscle Man, Hi Five Ghost and Benson continuously throwing the device back towards each other. It ends up in Benson's car, and the missile comes and destroys the car. Benson then angrily tells Mordecai and Rigby that he would not be paying them for the next six months, as punishment for blowing up his car, Benson also asks what happened to the house...
