Richard Doyle (born in 1945)[1] is a voice actor for Regular Show.

Early lifeEdit

He was born in Brockton, Massachusetts.[1] He began performing at 6 years old when a recreation director at a naval base put him in a talent show to entertain Navy wives whose husbands were away at sea serving.[2] In his act, he wore a straw hat and striped jacket, singing "Oh, You Beautiful Doll."[2] He later attended college at Long Beach City College.[3]

CareerEdit

Doyle has acted on Broadway, television and has even done voiceovers.[2] He is a founding member of the South Coast Repertory.[2] On Broadway, he has performed in such plays as The Crucible in a co-starring role, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Tavern, Unsuitable for Adults, The National Health, Men's Singles and All the Way Home; more recently he has played the Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol and the earthworm in James and the Giant Peach.[2][3][4] On television, he has played small roles on Charlie's Angels, M*A*S*H. Cannon, The Mod Squad, Dallas, Cheers and the short-lived series Future Cop, co-starring with Ernest Borgnine.[2] In voiceovers, he has provided the voices of a bear in a Kellogg's cereal commercial, Big Boss in the video game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Phineas Fogg in Pinky and the Brain's parody of Around the World in 80 Days, Ben 10 and Justice League.[2][5][6][4] He also serves as an announcer at the annual Pageant of the Masters every summer in Laguna Beach, California.[4] His voice acting agency is Innovative Artists.[7]

Personal lifeEdit

Doyle's favorite roles that he has played include a vagabond in The Tavern, a Cockney orderly in The National Health, a salesman in Men's Singles and an abusive alcoholic in All the Way Home.[3] He was married to a woman named Diane, who served as a director at the South Coast Repertory Youth Conservatory.[3] Together they have a daughter, named Sarah. Doyle also has a son from a previous marriage, named Brennan.[3] He and his wife resided in Santa Ana, California.[2] However, this marriage later ended and he eventually married his third wife, Jennifer Parsons, who is an actress for the South Coast Repertory, and played Miss Spider in James and the Giant Peach while her husband played an earthworm.[4]
